Thai FDA Visits BART LAB for Collaborative Discussion on Medical Device Standards

August 6, 2024 – BART LAB at the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, was honored to welcome executives and staff from the Medical Device Control Division of the Thai FDA. Led by Director Assoc. Prof. Piya Chinmanwong and Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Nakorn Tangwanchai, the delegation also toured the Advanced Medical Robotics Center, our new state-of-the-art facility.

The visit included fruitful discussions on potential collaborations for standardizing AI in medicine, medical robotics, and active medical devices. This engagement opens the door for future research collaborations and development in the medical device industry, further enhancing Thailand’s position in the global market.

We were especially pleased to see our alumni now serving as young professionals in the division. Special thanks to the Thai FDA team for this insightful visit and the opportunities it may bring for advancing medical technology.
