BART LAB Joins Thailand-Tokyo Tech Collaboration Discussions

October 11, 2024 – Assoc. Prof. Jackrit Suthakorn and Yuttana Itsarachaiyot represented Mahidol Biomedical Engineering in a facility visit and discussion panel at Tokyo Tech, focusing on collaboration between Thailand and Tokyo Tech. The event highlighted the newly established Biomedical Engineering track in TAIST (Thailand Advanced Institute of Science and Technology – Tokyo Tech Program).

The Thai delegation included key figures:
🔹 H.E. Minister, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation
🔹 President of NSTDA
🔹 Director of NRCT
🔹 TAIST-Tokyo Tech Directors and Track Leaders
🔹 Representatives from Thai universities (SIIT, KU, MU, KMITL, KMUTT, CU)

Following the discussions, the team had the opportunity to visit Tokyo Tech’s top research labs, including the lab of Prof. Endo, a student of Prof. Hirose, who pioneered the world’s first concept of Bio-Inspired Robots.

This visit reinforced academic and research collaborations between Thailand and Japan, particularly in biomedical engineering and robotics.
