Prof. Jumpei Arata Visits BART LAB to Explore Collaboration on Hand Rehabilitation Device

March 17, 2025 – Prof. Jumpei Arata from Kyushu University, accompanied by Ms. Mai from the Bio-Design Program, University of Tokyo, visited BART LAB at Mahidol University to discuss ongoing and future collaboration.

The discussion focused on Prof. Arata’s novel hand rehabilitation device, which integrates advanced robotics with patient-centered therapy. The visit aimed to explore possibilities for clinical testing, co-development, and joint research under the support of Mahidol’s biomedical engineering and rehabilitation networks.

The meeting strengthens the long-standing academic relationship between Japanese research institutions and Mahidol University, especially in the field of medical robotics, assistive technologies, and human-centered design.
