BART LAB Represents Thailand at ACCAS 2025 in Japan

29 September 2025 – Kyushu, Japan

BART LAB joined the Asian Conference on Computer-Aided Surgery (ACCAS 2025), hosted by Kyushu University Medical School, Japan, where leading researchers from across Asia convened to discuss advancements in medical robotics and computer-assisted interventions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Director of BART LAB and Board Member of the Asian Society of Computer-Aided Surgery (ASCAS), represented Thailand at the annual board meeting and the conference.

Dr. Nantida Nillahoot (Nui Nan), Innovation Director of BART LAB, was invited to deliver a talk in the prestigious “Rising Star Session.” Her presentation, “SurgySym – A Surgical Training Simulator from Research to Product,” highlighted BART LAB’s translational research journey from academic innovation to real-world surgical training applications. Two legendary pioneers in the field—Prof. Makoto Hashizume (Japan) and Prof. Dong-Soo Kwon (Korea)—attended the session, marking an inspiring milestone for Thai biomedical innovation.

Also joining from Thailand was Ms. Chavisa Suppuang, an M.D.-M.Eng. student from Mahidol–Ramathibodi, who presented her research paper at the conference. Prof. Kovit Khampitak from Khon Kaen University and members of the Thai Medical Robotics and AI Association also participated, reflecting Thailand’s growing presence in the Asian medical robotics community.
