BART LAB’s Pete-Panuwat Oiamwong Successfully Defends Master’s Thesis Proposal

December 20, 2024 – Congratulations to Pete-Panuwat Oiamwong, a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at Mahidol University and a member of BART LAB, who successfully passed his thesis proposal defense.

His research topic,
“A Study of Resistive Force and Torque Feedback from Muscles and Tissue in Spine Surgical Robot for Improved Precision and Control,”
aims to enhance the precision of spine surgical robots by analyzing force and torque feedback during interaction with muscles and tissues.

The proposal was evaluated by a distinguished committee:

  • Prof. Sorayouth Chumnanvej, MD (Co-Advisor, Ramathibodi Hospital)
  • Dr. Branesh Madhavan (Official External Committee, AIT)
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn (Advisor, BART LAB)

Also attending the session were:

  • Dr. Nui Nan Nantida Nillahoot
  • Dr. Shen Treratanakulchai
  • Dr. Yuttana Itsarachaiyot
along with several BART LAB members, who joined in support.

The project is a key contribution to the advancement of surgical robotics research, particularly in real-time control systems and haptic feedback for spinal procedures.
