Mahidol Engineering Signs MOU with Germany’s IGUS, Sparked by BART LAB’s RoboCup Initiative
March 17, 2025 (Morning) – A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Mahidol University Faculty of Engineering and IGUS GmbH, a renowned German company specializing in motion plastic components for industrial and robotic applications.
The collaboration was initiated through BART LAB’s rescue robot development activities for RoboCup, where the innovative use of IGUS products helped enhance robot motion and durability in extreme environments.
The signing ceremony marked the beginning of academic–industry collaboration in areas such as robotics, biomedical engineering, and intelligent systems, focusing on low-maintenance, lubricant-free, MRI-compatible polymer-based components.
