BART LAB Shares Vision for the Future of Biomedical Engineering at “Re-Inventing University” Conference in Nan

The Center for Biomedical and Robotics Technology (BART LAB), Mahidol University, participated in the regional academic conference “Re-Inventing University”, aimed at strengthening biomedical engineering and medical device innovation in Thailand. The event was jointly organized by Suranaree University of Technology, Mahidol University, Khon Kaen University, and Prince of Songkla University, with over 70 participants in attendance.

Themed “Future Development in Biomedical Engineering”, the session was led by Dr. Choladawan Moonjaita, faculty member of Mahidol’s Department of Biomedical Engineering and coordinator of the event.

Speakers included:

  1. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn – presented a comprehensive overview of ongoing medical robotics research at BART LAB.
  2. Emeritus Prof. Hashimoto – shared five decades of experience in biomedical engineering research and innovation from Japan.
  3. Dr. Nantida Nillahoot (Nui Nan) – discussed biomedical innovation and entrepreneurship, and introduced Mahidol’s undergraduate BME program.
  4. Dr. Yuttana Itsarachaiyot (Big) – inspired participants with insights on Mahidol’s Master’s and M.D.-M.Eng. joint programs in Biomedical Engineering.
  5. Dr. Krajang and Dr. Sudkhet, from Suranaree University of Technology – presented case studies on university-led product innovation and start-up development.

The event also featured participants from University of Phayao, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (Nan campus), and local high schools, including Sri Sawat School, highlighting strong local engagement in science and technology.
